Slippage is the difference between expected and actual price due to market movement.

  • High liquidity: 1-3% (for established tokens)

  2. Adjust the slippage tolerance

  3. Higher slippage = more likely to execute, but worse price

  4. Lower slippage = better price, but may fail during volatility

The Bonding Curve Explained

How It Works

  1. Initial Price: Tokens start at a low, fixed price

  2. Price Increases: Each purchase raises the price slightly

  3. Price Decreases: Each sale lowers the price slightly

  4. Automated: No manual liquidity provision needed

  5. Graduation: At ~63,000 SOL market cap, token moves to Raydium

Benefits

  • ✅ Always liquid - no waiting for buyers/sellers

  • ✅ Fair pricing based on demand

  • ✅ No rug pull risk from developers

  • ✅ Transparent price discovery

Reading the Curve

  • Steep curve = Price increases quickly with volume

  • Gradual curve = More tokens available before significant price increase

  • Progress bar = Shows distance to Raydium graduation

Token Metrics to Consider

Essential Metrics

  • Indicates overall project size

  • Higher cap = more established

Trading Volume

  • Total value traded in 24h

  • Higher volume = more active trading

  • Good indicator of interest

Holder Count

  • Number of unique holders

  • More holders = better distribution

  • Avoid tokens with few holders

Age

  • How long token has existed

  • Newer tokens = higher risk/reward

Advanced Metrics

Holder Distribution

  • Percentage held by top holders

  • Ideal: Well-distributed among many holders

  • Red flag: Few holders own most tokens

Price Change

  • 1h, 24h, 7d performance

  • Helps identify trends

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Transaction Failed

Possible causes:

  • Insufficient SOL for fees

  • Slippage tolerance too low

  • Network congestion

  • Insufficient token balance (for sells)

Solutions:

  • Increase slippage to 10-15%

  • Ensure adequate SOL balance

  • Wait and retry during lower congestion

  • Check your actual token balance

Price Different Than Expected

Cause: Price moved between quote and execution

Solutions:

  • Increase slippage tolerance

  • Trade during lower volatility

  • Use limit-style strategies (wait for better prices)

Can't Find Token

Solutions:

  • Check spelling of name/ticker

  • Token may be new (wait for indexing)

  • Use contract address if available

  • Check if token graduated to Raydium

Your Responsibilities

  • Understand the risks involved

  • Make independent investment decisions

  • Comply with local regulations

  • Secure your wallet and private keys

  • Report suspicious activity
